Think of gold filled as your everyday gold essential. It’s made by permanently bonding a substantial layer of genuine gold to a base metal core using heat and pressure, creating a rich, golden finish that’s designed for regular wear.
At KLJ, we use 14k gold filled for its rich, warm finish and durability. It offers a more accessible alternative to solid gold, making it perfect for everyday wear, layering and collecting. These are the jewels you’ll reach for on repeat.
The difference comes down to how the gold is applied. Gold filled jewellery has a substantial layer of gold bonded to its base metal, while gold plated jewellery has a much thinner coating applied to the surface. As a result, gold filled is generally more resistant to fading and wear, helping your jewels keep their finish for longer with proper care.
